Canadian X5's and Bluetooth install (post-install comments)
- I did not have the pre-wiring listed on my invoice It would appear all '05s (and presumably '06s) have the pre-wiring installed despite what the invoice says (this may also hold true for the 3.0s). My assumption is that since they are manufactured in the US, where all '05+ models have the combo/assist module installed, Canadian models piggy back on the US wiring but skip the combo/assist module (since BMW assist isn't available in Canada at this time). - To verify if your X5 [purchased in Canada] has the prewiring the quickest spot to check would be inside the arm rest (remove 3 torx screws from arm rest underside, lift plastic cover from bottom up, look for two cables, one integrated wiring connector [black] & one antenna [black/purple]. - Install is straight forward Only comment would be to ignore the existing antenna connectors at the rear near the ULF. These are for the assist module and do not provide antenna connectivity to the bluetooth ULF.

I've been contemplating doing this mod. Where did you buy the bluetooth module and how much was it? Thanks for the info.
