Interesting Bluetooth Problem

Never being able to leave well enough alone, yesterday I tried to pair my wife's new Verizon Moto E815 with my '05 X5. My Sprint Treo 650 has been working perfectly with the X, and she never drives the X, but I was curious to see if the new Moto would work as well. Went into pairing mode, and the X asked the Moto for the passkey. I entered the passkey, and the Moto displayed "Connecting to BMWxxxx". After a few minutes, I got an error on the Moto saying that it could not connect. No biggie, I thought, so I gave her her new phone back, and I thought I was finished.

Later, when I drove the X, the Treo did not pair or load the phone book. So, I tried to re-pair it, and got nothing. The Treo could not find the X. After fooling with it for about an hour, I thought that maybe the ULF was stuck in pairing mode with the Moto E815. I took the ULF out, disconnected the multi pin connector, waited a few minutes, then re-connected it. As soon as I did this, the Treo saw the BMW, I entered the passkey, and everything was back to normal. So, it would appear that pairings are kept in volatile memory in the ULF, and disconnecting power to the ULF appears to wipe out any previous pairings.
