remind me again what year your X5 is. If it's a pre-2003 then you'll need an adaptor cable that is custom made by Advanced Autovations for this applucation, so you may be better off just getting the whole kit from them.

You'll also need a cradle with a pairing button. Again, depending on the year, there are some adaptor cables needed that come with the AA kit.

Ok Jeff, as soon as I saw your answer, I purchased it.
it's an 01 prewired phone, do i need a mic as well . I know i have the mic thing but don't know if i need a different one. As for the cradle I thought unless i wanna charger the phone in the car i wouldn't need it. I just wanna be able to pair the phone with the car cause i'll mostly keep the phone on me...

If you already have the mic then you are all set.

You need a pairing button in order to pair the phone for the first time, and the pairing button is located in the cradle.

Check with Martin Bishop, he may be able to supply you with some of the adaptor harnesses you will need. See http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/124414

When I say I have the mic, I mean i know the old one is there for the older cpt 8000 phone. However it seems like most of these kits come with a mic, reason why i'm thinking i might need a different one than the one that came with the car.
Thanks, I'll check with him about the other harness.
