Has anyone ever got a GSM BT with used ULF retofit to work?

As title, has anyone here ever installed a used GSM TCU in a car that previously had none, and got the car to pair?

Please; I am specifically asking about used, GSM, TCU into a car that previously had none, so you US guys will have to sit this one out.

Note title is wrong, should read TCU.
