iPhone 5 in E53 X5 - connects but no audio
Has anyone successfully used an iPhone 5 in their E53 X5? It appears that bluetooth is syncing fine, but there is no audio at all in either direction once a call starts. Anyone have any idea why this would be the case?

yes I paired my Iphone 5 with my 2006 X5 and it is working. I know that you can choose the audio source from your iPhone once the call starts so that might be something to look into. Sorry I can't be more helpful but I can confirm that Verizon iPhone 5 does pair w/ 2006 BMW thru bluetooth. If there is something specific you want me to look at in my car/phone let me know and I will do so.
Hope you get it sorted out. Sometimes it's the little things that matter most!!! good luck

When updated my iPhone 4 to ios6, this occurred on both my e53 X5 and e71 X6. I contacted Apple and was advised that somtimes there are errors in the sofware updated and a complete reset of the phone will resolve it. I did the complete reset (will have to re-pair all bluetooth and wifi connections following) and that resolved the issue. I have since gotten an iPhone 5 and have had no problems with pairing in either vehicle.
