E815 Power on and Off with Ignition?
Does anyone know if the BMW cradle is supposed to power on and off the cellphone with the ignition? Right now, my Verizon E815 seems to stay on all the time, but it will only charge when the ignition is on. This causes the battery in the phone to go dead. Just trying to understand if this is working as designed.

Yes, it's working as designed. When the vehicle is turned off it cuts off the power to charge the phone and the phone will run on its own batteries until it dies.

That's too bad. The older CPT kits would turn off and on with the ignition. It's a pain in the next to turn the phone on everytime I start the car. Oh well.

I don't have an 815, but I do have it's cousin, the 710, so the settings might be similar. In my v710, you go to Settings/Car Settings, and can adjust the "Power-off Delay" and "Charger Time". See if that helps.
