2010 x5 35d cd player issue

Hi folks, Newbbie here
I bought this car a few months back and have not really used much, anyway, when I purchased I tried the cd/dvd player and they worked fine, I later loaded a couple cds into memory and that went ok, since then whenever I insert a cd or DVD it gives an unkown format rejection, have tried numerous factory recorded cd/dvds to no avail, I did hook up a code reader and cleared a egr cooler code, could I have changed something to do with the the player while looking Around? This has me stumped
