E53 Radio stay on after fuse 7 is pulled

For several years I've had an ICElink ipod interface installed – basically makes the ipod look like a multi disc changer to the business radio - no nav. With my first few iphones I would just plug it into the ipod connector and it worked like a charm. Once apple changed to a lightning connection, I switched to a bluetooth adapter in place of the ipod interface and once again it worked perfectly - full controls, track display, etc.

For some reason, I've recently lost the controls and display capability - audio still works - this may have been coincident with disconnecting my battery. Rather that disconnecting the battery again, I figured I would just pull the radio fuse to see if it would reset the changer. so I pulled fuse 7 (top left corner). Much to my surprise, the radio stayed on - so I pulled the rear radio/amp fuse - and is still stayed on. While I can always pull the battery cable again, the fact that pulling fuse 7 didn't work bugs me - any ideas?
