12v cigarette lighter not working

I just bought a 2000 X5 4.4 and all is well except neither the main 12v lighter in the dash nor the one on the center console for the rear passengers functions - I cannot find any hint of what fuse or where the fuse is - any ideas?

did the people who owned it before you smoke? I've found that after using my lighters for their true intended purpose, nothing works any more. The ash and stuff seems to gunk up the socket. Break out the sand paper and rough up the contacts a little bit, and get a circuit tester. Sand until you get your 12 volts. I'll be trying this myself sometime today. Good Luck!

Check fuses.

for sure its a fuse problem, replace fuse #25 with the same in the front fuse box

Yeah, fuse 25 needs to be replaced - just did it and everything works fine again.
