Yes, I am a dealer. Works fine (better than the LC6 as far as remote turn on circuitry).
If your CAN X5 has an external amp, the only reason I'd consider using an LC8 is for easier Bluetooth retention. Otherwise lose the OEM amp entirely...

I read that the LC8 has channel summing which is needed to get a fullrange RCA output.
I didnt think the LC6 had that. What does an LC8 cost by the way? P.S. Remember i was going try to do some kind of bypass harness? I was assuming the output from the HU was variable via the volume control. Why did the over engineer this DSP system? I was also wondering how similar BMW's (I-Bus) is to Alpine's (M-Bus). Alpine had an extremely similar system that used a 1310 or 7618 HU with a fixed output that controlled a 3618 processor. Pretty much the same as DSP. I have all the Alpine stuff, what do you think the chances of getting the factory NAV screen to control the 3681 processor are. Here is a diagram of the Alpine layout. |

Sigh... you are assuming a lot. Read the post I wrote on DSP amp bypass.
