Connecting an iPod Video

Has anyone tried to connect a video ipod, so it can be controlled from the steering wheel (via iceLink, Connect2, etc.) AND display video on the navi screen?

What you need to do is the regular video adapter, the iPod dock that gives you S video out, and an Icelink with a dock cable fitting (NOT the cradle).

The Apple dock has another female dock connector on it.

Voila.

That sounds good, but as far as I know, the iceLink disables the normal iPod screen and replaces it with it's own, so there will be no video display.
Would the video still appear on the s-video out???

Combining the ice>Link and VSM will allow for steering wheel control as well.

That would be really good news, but how do you combine them to allow video output? IceLink replaces the ipod screen with its own control screen. Can your module provide video output, while the device is connected to iceLink?

In the original thread you wrote: "It will have to be removed from the ice>Link or BMW iPod kit in order to be used".
Is that no longer the case???

When I refer to this, the ice>Link cannot display ID3 text when the VSM is already transmitting the video from the iPod to the NAV screen. The ice>Link will control the iPod through the videos via the steering wheel control.

This does require both the use of the VSM and ice>Link.

I'd be happy to use both if I can have complete steering wheel control and video playback.
Will VSM display the ipod screen on the navi screen even while playing mp3-s or I'd have to take the ipod out of the cradle, start a video then put it back in???
