Problem with aftermarket fitting
I have a aftermarket single din size motorised tv/dvd player which I am trying to install into my 2001 x5. The problem I got is that when I connect it by way of iso leads I only get sound when using the radio. When I use the tv or dvd there is no sound out of the bmw speakers. I thought it may be a fault with my new stereo so I connected a kenwood speaker direct to the new stereo and sound came out of it on tv/dvd and radio. Has anyone got a clue on this? I just find it strange how there is sound on the radio but not when i chose dvd or tv. It is a all in one unit so no external box. Please help if ya can cos its doing my head in now.haha
Many thanks |

You are using the wrong wire out of the Kenwood to turn on the BMW amplifier.
You have a blue and a blue white. One is powered whenever the Kenwood is ON, the other is for power antennae and is only powered when the TUNER is on. Switch these and you'll be... well, not exactly fine, but this problem will be addressed.
