1. Are the disks possibly put into the magazine upside down?

2. Check this article for connection information and make sure the orientation settings are for the Horizontal position - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/s...er-bmw-x5.html

Are you trying to use self-ripped discs (e.g. - iTunes)?

This happened to me when I put my iTunes backup disks into the magazine - I'm thinking the CD changer can't read the disks in that format.

I have worked it out, do not use copy disks on BMW CD CHANGERS, it burns the lens (no matter how many times you fix it, it will not play copy cd's for long), the guy in the parts place told me, so i ditched the whole thing and bought a alpine one instead that plays mp3 cd's aswell.

I believe the issue may be don't use cheap disc's. I have used copies in the x for over a year without and issue. I have found that there is a marked difference in disc's. The same applies to DVD's also. I bought some cheap ones. Not a good idea. I had to toss em out.

This link may be helpful. Someone also mentioned that if you stick to media made in Japan you will have better success. Taiyo Yuden imation gives good results.

I've got the NO DISCS issue as well but my situation is different.

The eject button is not working and my cartridge doesn't want to come out. This happened before but at least I heard the sound of the cartridge trying to eject. Then I would lift the cartridge up and ultimately after a few tries the cartridge would eject.

Now it's different because I don't hear the noise associated with the cartridge getting ejected.

My sense is that this is going to cost the same amount as a new cd changer to get fixed and I don't want to spend any more money on a CD changer. I'm going to buy a DICE instead and use my iPod.

Is there any way to force the cartridge out? Anyone had this problem? The big issue now is that I want to get my CD's back as they have some sentimental value.
