Removing of tweeter grille & radio module outputs

Hello

I bought my X5 a week ago. I do have a non-DSP system with navigation. Anyway, the whole set-up looks quite exotic.

Now I have two items where I need some help:
1. Replacing new tweeters: what is the best way to do this? Do I just remove the tweeter grille or do I have to do something else.

2. Radio module. As far as I have understood the system set-up, all the audio signals are routed via the radio module. Can anybody help me with the radio module output connector. I want to bypass the original amplifier with a "real amplifier". There's four pins for front speakers in the radio module. Are those outputs line-level outputs or speaker level outputs?

thanks
- PV

To replace tweeters, you'll need to remove the complete door panel. You can check out the article showing how to do this.

X5's with nav have their radio module mounted down in the spare tire comprtment, behind where the battery is located. See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...icle&artid=128 for some wiring information.

Yep. I already noticed this article. However, do you know if these connectors
1 / Blue-Black / Right Rear + output to amp (twisted with 5)
2 / Blue-Red / Right Front + output to amp (twisted with 6)
3 / Yellow-Red / Left Front + output to amp (twisted with 7)
4 / Yellow-Black / Left Rear + output to amp (twisted with 8)
5 / Blue-Black / Right Rear + output to amp (twisted with 1)
6 / Blue-Red / Right Front + output to amp (twisted with 2)
7 / Yellow-Red / Left Front + output to amp (twisted with 3)
8 / Yellow-Black / Left Rear + output to amp (twisted with 4)

are speaker-level or line-level outputs?

I saw that too but wasn't sure about the - connector, my assumption is it's whatever it's twisted with is the - connector.

Also, I am fairly sure that ones you mentioned are line-level outputs. The speaker level outputs would be labeled (tweeter, mid, woofer, etc).
