BEst speaker upgrade for 06'

Hi, I did search first so I do apologize in advance if i missed this. I leased a 06' 3.0 with base stereo. I wanted to upgrade the speakers to get the best bang for the buck with no modification to the SAV. Are there any suggestions for improved sound quality. IMHO, the system is just flat so I am looking for a solution to improve low, mid and high end performance.

I would just add a small 10 or 8 inch subwoofer in the back.

the best bang for the buck? i would have to
say the BSW Stage I Kit from Bavarian Soundwerks.
although, it all depends on how much u want to
spend and what u consider the best bang for ur buck.

i do.

i purchased them a few months back.
i have somewhat of a write-up on here.
do a search for "BSW Stage 1." i bought
the MB Quarts, along w/ the mid-range
speakers. i'm completely satisifed w/ the
sound after the upgrade. as others will
aslo suggest, ur still going to probably
want to add a seperate subwoofer though.

let me know if u have any other questions....

Thanks so much! Obviously my concern is the integrated system and not messing something up with it. Like I said this is a 2 year lease through my company so I don't want to play around. I can get a 6" bazooka sub installed for about $350, I listen to alternative rock primarily so I am really looking for a solid response as opposed to booming bass. I think I'll drop that in and then look at the others, although the high-end is pretty flat as well. If anyone has a sub they recomend, let me know.

I did last weekend a "humble"modification to my X3 06 changing the original 4 door speakers for Hertz Dieci DCX100. I noticed a huge increase of quality sound just for 90€. The Hertz has the perfect mounting deep (42mm) for X3.
My next project will be change the beneah seats speakers for two Hertz energy HV200 almost without modifing the original box.

I'dont know if thi is a valid solution for you... but it's very efficient Cash/improvement.

I did the BSW stage 1 upgrade with MB Quarts as well. I have to say the sound quality is better and more detailed. There still isn't the bass but I new going into this that I'd want to add a subwoofer at some point. I think I had found a link a while back about someone that made custom subwoofer boxes for like $290 or so...but I can't find it again (help anyone??). But that is what I was leaning towards and adding my own subwoofer to that box and installing it myself.

The BSW kit has good instructions, I also had to call Micah to verify some wiring and he was great to work with. I also bought the tools for door removal and they helped a lot.

If you don't feel too handy then have the kit installed. It is time consuming so make sure you have planned to have a good day of free time.

the directions from micah are pretty straight forward.
i, too, had some questions regarding the wiring. BMW
uses both black stripes and brown stripes which can
be hard to differentiate between in bad lighting. micah
and or his staff responded extremely quick.

if u do it urself, definitely invest in the door trim panel
removal tool.
