TV/DVD on 16:9 board-monitor

Hello all,

I have one question regarding the on board 16:9 NAV screen.
I'm installing a DVD player and I want to be able to get the image on the onboard 16:9 screen.
I do not want to use the input of my oem tv-tuner (because of mono-sound) and i do not want to use aftermarket devices. I just want to tap into the wiring harness and get the dvd image on the oem screen.

Do you know if this is possible? I assume the oem tv tuner also communicates with the onboard screen using an rgb or composite signal, so I do not see why it would not be possible.

any suggestions?

I use the OEM TV-Tuner for the video and the OEM Aux-input for the audio to give me stereo sound.

I don't believe you can just simply pipe the video to the screen without some sort of video interface device, such as the OEM TV-Tuner or an aftermarket device such as this - http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=161

Thanks for your quick reply.

How do you use the tv tuner video input with the oem aux stereo sound input??
Can you switch the sound to aux-in and get video from the tv tuner at the same time??
This would solve my problem, I have a dension icelink with aux-module which I can use for the audio signal. If I can use this signal while having video from the tv-module it would be fine.

Yes, selecting alternate audio sources (along with having steering wheel controls) was one of the benefits of the TVonNav module. I don't know if they are still available or not, but there may be other sources that I am not aware of.
