Is there a better product than DICE?

I think the DICE product is pretty crappy. My steering wheel controls hardly ever work correctly, it needs to be rebooted constantly to get them back straight, if you have more than one IPOD, it loses it's mind if you switch between them, and the sound output isn't nearly as clean as other integrations I have (my factory Audi, and my Kenwood in my NSX).

On a car with Nav, there's got to be a better product out there. Or maybe mine is just a bad one and I need to buy another.

Thoughts?

Talking

No DICE experience here but I do have the Intravee and I love it!
Very happy with their service too, most questions are answered within hours on the Intravee forum.
Another point to mention, its firmware can be upgraded.

What else do you have to buy to make the Intravee II work with your Ipod? It seems that I need an Alpine Ipod adapter too?

That's fine, I just want to make sure I have everything I need if I decide to buy it.

Thanks,

Have a look on the Intravention.co.uk forum.
Here you can see how the Intravee connects up to the BMW.
I had to buy a KCA-420i which I did on eBay.
Paid $65 for a new one.

Cool

Did you read the Intravee II website? All the answers are there. Also did you see this article?: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/e...t=iPod+options

Quote:
The Intravee II is a complete solution that allows seamless integration of Alpine Ai-Net based devices into an I-BUS equipped BMW vehicle.

Perfect integration with the car's controls, including steering wheel controls where fitted.

Displays CD/MP3 text (ID3 tags, file/folder names, CD-TEXT etc) on most standard BMW display bars and Navigation screens, including E46 radio.

Direct connection of Alpine MP3 CD changer and Apple iPod via optional Alpine KCA-420i unit.

Fast music search feature for iPod and MP3 CD changer.

Sub-folder navigation on MP3 disks.

Quick response time to button presses!

Firmware upgradable via a standard PC either by dealer or end user allowing new vehicle types and software features to be added to existing units after they are sold.

Very low standby power consumption (typically less than 1mA) so unlike some other adapters will not cause any flat batteries or cold starting problems.

Dimensions 95 x 65 x 30 mm. (3.75 x 2.5 x 1.0 inches approx)

*** We hope to add support in the future to allow users to control other Alpine Ai-Net based products using the BMW factory head unit, such as amplifiers and equalizers ***

Check out Alpines family of Ai-Net products. Intravee doesn't work with all Ai-Net products yet! http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...gory=ADD-ON_PR
