radio & CD stopped working!!!
Have a 2005 X5 with Nav but without DSP also has CD changer. My wife accidently pushed the SOS button on the overhead console and we now do not have any Radio, CD or Tape. We did NOT subscribe to BMW Assist. When calling the BMW dealership, they told us that if we had subscribed to BMW Assist that the radio/cd/tape would come on only after we actually connected with an SOS advisor. Since we did not subscribe, we should not have lost radio/cd/tape function & that this is a problem we need to take the vehicle in for. Any ideas? I just wanted to save time and aggravation of having to go to the dealer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, John |

Maybe try disconnecting your battery for a bit.

Is there any procedures that I will have to go through after disconnecting the battery? Will I have to reset seat memory, radio stations, clock etc.?
I have never disconnected before. Thanks! John |

I have disconnected my battery many times. You will have to reset your seat memory and OBC stuff (like date, time, speed alert, etc.). I am pretty sure that all other memory stuff will persist.
