Question XM sat radio with Nav

Anyone here has XM sat radio with Nav? From what I gather XM direct does not work with nav. Is there any other module/unit which I can use.
I want XM instead of Sirius because I have XM on home system and also on the other car. What are my options?

I used an XM commander in combination with the AUX input. I mounted the display where the ashtray goes.

Currently we do not offer any solutions for the X5 and XM radio that keep the sound quality that the satellite radio is known for. You could FM modulate your XM radio but poor sound quality would result.

You do also have the option to go with the oem Sirius like you had mentioned before.

The last option would be to get a module with auxilary inputs and run an exterrnal XM module. This would retain the sound quality but would not be fully integrated.

Here's what I did, I bought the Roady XT and mounted it on the wood trim and used the AUX for the sound so it doesnt go over FM. Heres a pic of mine

The Navigation is the roadblock, the XM Direct kits are simply not compatible. You can go with an aftermarket, but there will be no text display and your CD Changer will be removed, if present.

I would recommend Sirius for Navigation-Based vehicles, this will utilize your steering wheel control, give full text display and factory presets. Another cool feature on Nav-based vehicles is the sort by Genre feature for easier browsing:

Sirius Satellite Radio - e53 X5

Let me know if you have any further questions on Sirius.
