According to a certain DVD that starts with a W, ends with a S and has a D in the middle, the Yellow+Red and Yellow+Brown come from the radio, and the black+white and black+brown come from either the Telefone system, the Voice control or equivalent module.
WTF? In the X3, I think I saw the telephone system injecting its sound somewhere into the radio. The X5 has a separate sound harness for both systems?!?!

OK, that makes sense - I guess if you have factory phone then the sound from the amp is muted and the sound from the phone comes thru the speakers. In other words, I don't need those two wires. I was looking at the WDS diagram for the radio/ amp but those wires were not included - now I know why.
Thanks for the info!!

The two extra wires are for the factory phone connection. Door OEM woofer has two sets of connections and if you deside to upgrade your speakers, you will loose phone speaker, as I did, after upgrading with BSW stage 1.

I don't have the factory phone and would never add one, so no loss. Thanks for the added input. New speakers going in this weekend!!
