Anyone know if a DSP radio unit will work with a non DSP X5 set-up.

Obviously you won't get the DSP sound but will the radio work together with a non dsp system. Reason I'm asking is I'm selling a DSP radio unit and someone would like it if it will work with his Non DSP set-up.

Radio has nothing to do with DSP, it will more than likely work - more importantly will be where the radio came from and what year X5 the radio is being installed into.

Ok, I'll admit it was me, but why won't I get DSP sound? At the risk of sounding ignorant I thought the speaker setup was the same but the DSP compensated for that internally.

The amp needs DSP coding, it's a completely different setup (and speaker count). I wouldn't worry about it as you can achieve much better results with aftermarket equipment while retaining your stock HU.
