Dice HD iPod Install

Hello,

I purchased a Dice HD Radio / Ipod Module that I began installing yesterday. I ran the cable to the center console, but have not removed the center console yet as I ran out of time so the wire is underneath the drivers seat at the moment.

I do have a question. The antenna for the HD radio does not seem to be long enough to go from the console to the windshield. Is that correct?

How have people mounted their Dice HD Antenna? I looked on the forum and saw Kewl had done it behind the glovebox, but then that makes the ipod unusable to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

-b

Does your Dice HD make a crapload of engine noise?

alright, just got done with that two day excercise. There is enough room to run it down the door, through the glove box, and behind the radio. I have the dice mounted underneath the radio area where my feet are (between the drivers / passenger side).

The ipod cable comes up through the ashtray and the ipod just sits in there. theres enough cable to handle the ipod if need be.

I also purchased a panavise mount for my Audiovox PNP3 Sirius Satellite Radio. The display is red so it matches the interior nicely. I just couldn't bring myself to spend 800 on a sirius oem upgrade, so I have something sticking out the dash now that doesn't look horrible.

I was getting engine whine when selecting Aux-1 from the dice (the sirius radio) but put a inline 3.5mm stereo jack ground loop isolater on which seems to take care of the trick.

I'll post pics shortly.

the first one...very loud and noticalbe alternator whine. hated it; when i accelerated, it produced a high pitched sounds from the speaker. felt that if i was driving an electric car, that's the sound it would make

second one, was lower

now, third one is even lower. i spoke to Tom G., and he suggests that i move it from under the front passenger seat to another location...

there is an option, but it involves slicing wires...

Correct - the HD antenna has to be in clear view of the sky - with no obstructions or behind tint.
