Radio control button is dead/inactive on 2002 X5

When I press the radio control button, no power comes on - all fuses are checked and OK or replaced - any ideas?

Hmm, with the key out of the car hit the power button on the radio to turn it on and see if you get anything. Also try hitting the CD eject button (assuming you don't have NAV). See if you can get the unit to take a CD. May just be a dead power button....at worst a bad radio.

Cd changer works - but since radio button has no power, no music! Also, VAV works with no sound

Might be the module going bad. Replace the fuse anyway if you have not. Check the spare tire area for water, short.

Someone said that it may be a blown fuse on the amplifier - where is the amp in the X5 and is the fuse independent of all other fuses - I only found 2 fuse boxes - one in the glove compartment and one in the right hand side rear panel

radioproblem

Hi!
I have a similar problem, but worse, as my suspension contol is dead as well. My problem lies in that the DSP/booster? for the radio is located below the spare tire, and my "hole" is fuilled with water, resulting in a blown out booster.. lift your spare tire, and check under the plastic cover!

yours
/dave
