BMW ipod adapter and SW 1.2

Since upgradeing to Itunes 7.0.1 and Ipod firmware 1.2 i've had problems with my Ipod 60GB video working with my X5 2006 model with BMW ipod adapter. The ipod adapter is a slim long unit which sits inside a black foam sleeve.

Problem is when I get back to the car and switch on the stereo, when I finish a phone call and the system switches back to the Ipod, or if I scroll from the radio, CD to the ipod. The ipod plays a few seconds of a track over and over with the pause and play icon alternating. Skipping forward a track or selecting another playlist seems to sort things out.

I found some info on the apple site and other BMW owners are having the same problem see link below.

I ended up installing the older apple installer and restored my ipod to version 1.1.2. I then told itunes 7 to not install to 1.2.

I used the download hidden away at the bottom right of this page

Hope this helps other ipod-ophiles.

Chris

Interesting - I've head of this behavior in the new MOST (new 3/5/6) kits, but not the ibus kits. Thanks for following up.

Ipod firmware 1.2.1 fixes the problem

I just updated by 60GB Ipod video to firmware 1.2.1 and it fixes the problem with the BMW ipod adapter that came with 1.2.

Getting the upgrade installed was a major problem as I ended up in an infinite look where itunes would tell me the ipod needed resetting before upgrading over and over again. I ended up deinstalling itunes, backgrading the ipod to 1.1.2. Reinstalling itules 7.0.2 and upgrading the firmware before syncing any tracks to the ipod.

Chris.
