Angry DICE more modern vs iceLinkPLus????????

I have both of the adapter. I shall not understand why the adapter DICE is considered more modern in comparison with the adapter iceLinkPlus? The Adapter iceLinkPlus allows to choose online artist/albums seeing their names on the monitor. The adapter DICE allows to see only track names and to thumb through forward/back track/albums, not seeing the name of an album/artist/playlist etc. Why in the adapter DICE there is no choice on the Artist? It is very important function. In general my opinion - the adapter iceLinkPlus is much more functional than the adapter DICE !

The DICE allows the iPod to remain in iPod UI and grant full access to the Clickwheel while connected - unlike the ice>Link.

DICE allows Song titles, Artist and Album text while that specific song is in play. The problem with the ice>Link is that if you have an artist that begins in the middle the the alphabet - you must press the next arrow repeatedly to get there. Also, the DICE kits are much more stable than the ice>Link, which have proven to be unreliable and fail after about a year and Dension's support is limited, or non-existent.

Essentially, it's two differnet kits that offer different features. Getting text display from the iPod while remaining in iPod UI is something that no other manufacturer can claim.

We would call the DICE a huge "leap" forward and not a step in terms of iPod integration.

Then not clearly what for the adapter if to use iPod the interface in general is necessary? Only for additional charge and a conclusion of names? Then it is possible to be connected simply through AUX. And accumulators and so suffices at 10-14 hrs.

PS: one more important advantage iceLink is a updating a software. And at DICE there are less problems by quantity of censures in a forum.

PS2: iceLink the same has a mode iPod UI

I'm very aware of the ice>Link Plus, I've been working with the devices since they were introduced in mid-2003.

A big part behind the DICE is product support. Dension cannot even come close to what we or DICE can offer to our customers. Most of the time, emails or phone calls are not even returned. Lots of our emails are still ice>Link Plus related even though we stopped selling the kits back in May, with most of them being overseas inquiries. As a general rule, we still offer support to those that inquire - regardless where they purchase from.

There's no better search tool than the iPod itself, the ice>Link Plus or DICE cannot touch it. However, the DICE doesn't lock out the iPod to attempt to gain other features and allows the iPod to remain unlocked. This is great if you want to get to a specific song quickly or simply want to hand the iPod to a passenger on a road trip.

Note that there's no text display on the radio in iPod UI this mode and only "simple remote" mode is permitted on the ILP. Essentially, you get next/prev track and charging - nothing else. Most people never use this mode. Also, the firmware update process is very unstable on the ice>Link Plus - lots of modules failed during the process requiring replacement.

The ice>Link Plus is a great product..........when it works.
