Dice HD Install Locations

I'm at a loss for finding a suitable location for the Dice HD Radio w/iPod brain. The unit seems larger than just the Dice/iPod brain from what I can tell as the recommended locations for that aren't large enough for the HD unit.

There was a really well-done set of pics for an HD install but the only pics showing the brain were on top of the passenger seat and tailgate...not an option for me. :-)

The HD Radio antenna is only about 8ft long and I'm concerned that it wouldn't reach beneath one of the front seats. True?

It will fit under the front seats but only if I place it in front of the heater duct...probably not a good idea. I also removed the glove box and couldn't find enough room in there as well.

Where are people hiding these things?

Oh yeah, one other question...my front window is tinted (6" band across the top only). Will this interfere with reception?

:xoutpost:

mine is under the front passenger seat...just route all the wires there, underneath the rear seat bench, through the center console. works well...not even secured on, and it sits securely on the floor.

Underneath the passenger seat at this time, or you can use an extension cable to allow the HD DICE to go behind the glovebox like in the post that was linked. Contact me directly and we'll go over some options.

Unfortunately, there isn't enough room to place the HD DICE box in the center console at this time, but we are working on a way around that.

if you are still searching unsuccessfully for an install location for ur dice HD radio what you should do is route ur cables like normal from the trunk to the front of the car, via drivers side door mouldings, run the thicker black cable included with the dice underneath the drivers seat, 4 bolts simple (16 mm) there are panels attached with those same clips as the door mouldings on the sides of the transmission tunnel remove both sides, u will see a carpeted area towards the far front of the car u can slide the dice hd unit up there, fortunately the ipod cable can be routed to the glove box easily and the antenna wire can be snuck behind the dashboard via the passenger door sills, it is actually long enough to do this. that is how i did my install, it works great on that note, just wished the Unit didnt have sooo many software glitches that requires me to unplug it to restore functionality (software glitches primarilly found with bluetooth incoming fone call and locking out when saving presets .... stuff like that.)
