Yet another iPod question - 2001 X5

'01 X5 - I recently purchased a kit in order to hool up my iPod to the CD Changer...I looked behind the drivers side panel in the cargo area, but did not find the 3 pin and 6 pin connectors referred to in the installation instructions. The dealer told me I needed to pull up the floor panel in the cargo area...did that, and unscrewed the piece near the left hand panel revealing additional wiring...I found an empty 3 pin plug, but no 6 pin plug...the dealer also confirmed that my model was supposed to be pre-wired. Any thoughts? I guess I can always go to a local auto-stereo installer, but it seems like if I can just locate the correct wiring, I can save the money. Thanks. Reply here or to [email protected]

Is this vehicle a DSP equipped X5?

Try the below link to check out the installation, simply click on the video tab about 1/2 way down the page:

Do you have a DSP button next to the clock button on your MID display? If so, you would need a DSP converter - assuming you have the DICE.

Let me know if you have any further questions - we'd be happy to help.
