WEIRD Dice kit issues......

Well I installed the kit into my 01 X5 several months ago and I have never been able to get it to function properly (as advertised).

I'm using a Photo 60GB iPod unit.

The DICE kit was an xmas gift and I installed it immediately. It worked.

Soon thereafter I lost the steering wheel control of skip forward or reverse a song. Volume on steering wheel kept working though. Shortly after this the MID display would not show the song title anymore. After this the iPod would jump screens very rapidly back and forth by itself. The iPod would then say, "OK to Disconnect." for no reason.

I would turn off the stereo, unplug the iPod, reset the iPod, or detach the negative battery cable hoping to reset everything. I finally resorted to reformatting the iPod, and manually selecting disc 6, then disc 1 song 4 each time I started the car so I could see the song title.

I still couldn't get the steering wheel F and R controls back.

I did all this using playlists, etc. and every other thing I could think of.

I was given a new 4th Gen color ipod as the original croaked. Same problems as before.

I am STUMPED. What am I doing incorrectly?
