Icelink Help, Menu won't come up

I installed an Icelink with firmware 2B-v2 into a 2005 X5 4.4 with Navigation NO DSP.

I can select Playlists 1-5, by pushing the approriate button and and I can move from track to track, BUT when I select CD6 to bring the menu up it does not come up.

I purchased the Icelink from Best Buy today.

Thx

What does come up when you hit 6?

You might try dropping an email or calling Dension tech support. There is a newer firmware version, vBB2, and Dension should be able to tell you if this will work for your vehicle. Tom can be reached at [email protected] and he can get you to the right support engineer.

If the "right support engineer" is Zoltan, hang up the phone and go smack your forehead for a half-hour instead. Hurts less.

Best Buy doesn't turn these things very often, and their HW and SW is old. I had this exact problem with a BB-sourced Icelink on a Sony HU - would not access the menu. I don't think it was the BMW item specifically. I'd see about getting another one, but first I'd try disconnecting it and reconnecting it to see if it cares.

That micro is a little glitchy.

I had some problems when I first put mine in, but it eventually works. I just press and hold the button (it happens sometimes no only with the menu, but other functions as well), and in my experience it works eventually. Hopefully you can get something figured out.

I found the same issue. I assume this is while your displaying songs\artist via text. I solved it by using the old no-text to nav.mp3 file that I had used to turn text on and off before 2b1 upgrade. When I couldn't get the menu up I tried turning text off manually and it worked. Same procedure. Then make your menu changes and turn text back on from menu. Also, if you're finding that when you do anything button wise on Nav screen and the text stops working (until you reset ignition or ipod) try hitting the R/T button on steering while and bring up at name in your phonebook, then hit R/T again and it will go back to text and text will be back. Hope this helps.
