No Disc error

I have a '05 X3 with nav. I put a disc into the CD player this morning and it worked for a while and then stopped, now I get a No Disc error and it will not eject the disc.

I searched the forums and found one that was similar but it was for was for a X5 and did not provide any guidance.

The car is 1400 miles out of warranty so I am on my own.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Are these store-purchased CDs or CD-Rs?

Thanks
I had the exact same thing happen ('05 X5) a few months back. I have no clue what it was. It happened one day, that's it. The gremlin is gone. My deal is a bit different, I have a lease that's up in 4 months and I'm still under warranty.
.
Good luck.

My 2006 did that once. I think with the next startup, it cleared or was it switching modes afew times? or both? I can't remember, sorry. The CD was one I received from staying at the Hard Rock in Tampa.

This morning when I started the car it ejected the disc and when I put another disc in it started working. The only thing that makes any sence to me is that it might have overheated. I had a book on disc and it had played nonstop for 3 hours and the outside temp was 95, so after it had time to cool down it started working, I think.

Since this will probaby happen again, I will still need to replace the disc player. Anyone know where can I get a replacement, with instructions?
