Question iPod Not Charging After Adding Subwoofer

I finally picked up Wagner's subwoofer on Saturday. The thing sounds amazing...I'm officially "cool" again with my little sisters!

One problem...the Ice>Link Plus isn't charging my iPod anymore.

Any idea why?

Tom G. HELP!!!!!!

The sub shouldn't have anything to do with the iPod - was any of the ice>Link's wiring touched?

nope.

As you know the Basslink sub is a direct connect to the harness, nothing is spliced or altered in any way. I told M I was curious how all other functionality worked fine, aside from charging. I would think that if there were an issue the iPod wouldn't work at all

It could also be a coincidence that the icelink module is failing. Try reinitializing the module to see if the charging is brought back to life:

1. Disconnect iPod from cable
2. Remove battery cables, negative first
3. Touch battery cable terminals together (away from battery) for +5 seconds, a small spark is normal as this is stored power draining from the system.
4. Allow cables to remain disconnected for about 5-7 minutes
5. Reconnect battery cables onto battery, negative last.
6. Reboot iPod by pressing on MENU and CENTER buttons for +5 seconds and then reconnecting to the icelink cable after the reboot process is completed.

Let me know if these steps correct the problem. Also try another iPod to see if you get different results.

I'll try that over the weekend!

Is there any other way to reinitialize the module? This is one reason why I've been staying away from buying one as any bug/issue the solution would be to disconnect the battery. In the X5 this is a major thing to do....

M, sorry for the hijack..... Hope you get help taking out the spare tire and removing the air compressor to get to the battery. And I hope it works.

...more hijacking, isn't there a fuse you could pull to reset the battery or at least the Audio portion??

No - battery is recommend over the fuses. Normally, this shouldn't have to be done on a repeated basis - but with troubleshooting, we're starting from step 1.
