Can't change AMP fuse without disconnecting the battery...this normal?
This has me stumped, I could have sworn I could change out my amp fuse without having to disconnect my battery (which is a MAJOR PAIN IN THE ARSE ON X5's). Anyway, I went to put a new fuse in my Hifonics mono amp and I got the spark fest and now need a new fuse.
Is something hooked up wrong or is this normal behavior? |

Generally speaking the last thing that gets hooked up in an audio installation is the battery ground connection after the fuse is installed in the positive amp lead.
Most amps will spark when the power leads are connected - in your case that appears to be blowing the fuse... Real Question: How did the fuse blow in the first place? How do you know you didn't damage the amp? d- |
