Radio reception problems

My 2001 X5 has recently started with a minor but irritating problem. When i use the rear de mister, the FM reception becomes very poor. This usually gets back to normal when switching off the de mister, but i have had this happen when not using the rear screen heating too. I think i am correct ion saying that the antenna for the radio is in the rear screen but please correct me if i am wrong.

Any ideas for a cure??

It sounds like your diversity antenna amplifier module has failed. I had the same problem in my E38, and my Dad had it in his MINI.
