Sirius "No Antenna" message?

I have an 06 X5 with factory sirius. Reception is no problem, but 80% of the time, rather than seeing the artist name and track name, I see nothing except the message "No Antenna". This happens all the time and it does not seem to follow any pattern like location, bumps that might be causing a wire to connect/disconnect etc.

Anyone else suffer from this problem? Any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks!

It sounds like you have a bad antenna or bad antenna cable. Both are easy to replace. However, your car is probably still under warranty, so I would hand that one off to the dealer.

thanks for your help. YEs it is under warranty. I'll try the dealer again, but of course, whenever I'm there it shows the artist info so they haven't been of much help....

I have the same problem on my wife's 325 ci c. I think it's because I have the antenna wire coming up through the gap in the back of the trunk lid. I just got a new XM antenna and wire from ebay, and this time I'll install it with double sided tape on the left rear headrest so it doesnt flex. I'll let you know, but l'm pretty sure the cable which is VERY thin inside the insulation has probably broken down and so I'll do an inside install and avoid the flex. It lasted over a year though...
