If My X5 is not DSP, can I buy the amp and subwoofer

If My X5 is not DSP, can I buy the amp and subwoofer, is this plug and play or do i need someone that knows what they are doing do it


I have an x5 4.4 2001 with NAV

Forget the OEM sub setup, its a POS. Just my opinion.

You could go with the BSW sub package:

Or you could go with the JL audio stealth box and pick your own amp.

This takes some expertise. The plugs are different, so you would need to splice-in the DSP pluts into your existing wiring. Then you would need to replace your MID with a DSP-ready MID. Finally, you would need to get the DSP amp "coded" to work in your car.

It is not that hard a project, but it is not plug-and-play either. The results are worth it when you are done. You can go aftermarket, but is expensive and you do not have all the integration.

Ok the reason I ask is i already bought the sub, I figure i buy the amp and maybe someone in NYC can do it for me, any takers?
