Intravee II

Expecting to have my Intravee II ordered at Bimmernav.com pretty soon.
Will use it with the Alpine KCA-420i to connect an iPod to my car's stereo.
The factory cd-changer will be removed.
Anybody there who has done this and would like to share his/here experience?

Do a search using the search feature. The search feature is found between today's post and Quick Links below Gallery in the menu you see above. That's the easiest way. Have fun........

That is correct.
1- it about an E46 M3 and I have an X5 (xoutpost.com)
2- I don't have access to the images (you do not have permission to access this page)

#1 You wanted "his/here experience." You didn't specify what vehicle you had. You said "my car's stereo" Not the stereo for your X.

#2 ??? You could have PM'd the person for more info.

Yes, I could have specified the brand and model of the car but as it is the x5world forum I assumed people would obviously know that the question was regarding an X5.
I see no point in PMing somebody who installed the Intravee in an M3 as I have a different car.
The installation is car specific.

Eric,

I think the install is very similar, the logistics of where to put everything will obviously be different. Basically the two leads from the CD changer go to the intravee, the intravee connects to the kca420, and that to the ipod. It then all just works. It is a very easy install, and an excellent product.

Thanks Paul.
I sure do believe that it is an excellent product.
It's the logistics of where to put everything that I am especially interested in.
I removed the cd-changer so there's plenty of space in that area but I was hoping for a response from someone who installed the IV in an X5 (iso getting a tutorial on how to use this forum ).
Like whether to use/make a bracket or not.
I see on the intravention forum that you were/are a tester.
Read your posting regarding the iBus splitter.
Will have to do the same as the Resler interface should be here any moment.
This voice control you were talking about, is that an IV feature?
Are you using the IV in an X5?

Hi Eric,

I'm using the intravee in an m3, I'm sure I've seen some pics somewhere of an x5 install, but can't remember where. I think you may have more options as you may have more space. I didn't install the CD changer, so used the space to hold the ipod, and the serial lead for the intravee, and the usb lead for the resler. I don't think you'd get the intravee,kca420i and an ipod in the tray.

You don't need the resler to be attached all the time when using navcoder, I just did it to make it easier if I wanted to use it again. Once navcoder has changed settings they remain. I've activated the voice control and TV in motion.

The voice control is not a feature of the intravee, its included on some bluetooth modules, but not enabled. The resler & navcoder let you enable it, if its installed. Its an excellent option, letting you operate the phone, sat nav and record memos. The voice phonebook is separate from the phone's phone book, so if you have a phone which has problems with phonebook syncing, you can use the voice phonebook.
