Can I install my DICE into my new X5?

I removed my DICE unit from my 2004 4.4i. Before I install into my 2006 X5 4.8is I'd like to know in advance if this would represent a problem? Is the DICE module compatible with both model years and models?

TIA

Yes - the same kit can be used. Do either of the vehicles have DSP?

You're perfectly fine - you may or may need the DSP adapter depending on if you have Digital or Analog DSP configuration in your new X5.

If you do not hear audio yet have control of the DICE unit - it will require the DSP adapter.

Your 2006 X5 should not need the adapter and neither should the 2004. However BMW seemed to drop the ball in that some do and some don't. Based on the build dates of your 04 and 06 it is not needed

If it turns out you do check out our videos and you can watch us wire up the DSP
