Confused... 2005 X5 speakers on top of dash? Or no?

I have non-nav non-DSP. I replaced the door speakers but I assume they are crossed over somewhere else because they are very 'mid.' There's really no bass, so a sub is in the future. Right now, however, I'm looking into improving the high frequencies. I believe there are a pair of tweeters on the doors, but between the dash and the windshield there are two grills which I believe are speakers. Are these ALSO 1" tweeters or some other kind of speaker? I'm not finding anything on Crutchfield, etc.

Yeh, they are mid-range speakers, i would replace them if you replaced the other ones.

The speakers in the top of your dash are a non-standard sized 2.5" midrange speaker. There are really only two places that you will be able to find a proper replacement for them; the bmw dealer and us. Difference being with the dealer piece it will be exactly what you have now, while ours will be an upgrade in both soundquality and durability over the OEM part. Just so you know your car has a 10 channel amplifier in the rear left of the hatch area located behind the carpet. Each channel is dedicated to each speaker in your car and is crossed-over internally according to what the speaker is designed to reproduce clearly.
