Quick question for Tom G

I purchased the XM Radio kit and it works great. I notice there are cables hanging off the unit to plug in an external 6 and 3 pin connector device. Is this mainly to allow CD Changer passthrough? Can these connectors be used for HD Radio?

How does the end user switch between the XM unit and whatever peripheral unit is connected to it? I wouldn't expect the 'Mode' button to change between the two since they're both coming into the BMW radio via the CD Changer input.

Any clarification is appreciated! I'm interested in running XM and HD Radio in the car (2005 X5 non DSP)

Thanks!

This is the passthrough for a CD Changer or DICE kit. The HD DICE kit is also compatible.

Pressing the MODE button will navigate through the CD Changer, XM, in-dash CD as well as AM/FM.

Both can coexist in the X5. We have a our final shipment of XM Direct kits in stock, ordering before march 29th will ensure you get the $50 rebate.
