Hey Rich,

I'm M3on20z from E46fanatics, I'll be buying that trim from you shortly, how much do you think a full carputer would cost? I have about $1500 right now, thanks bro.

You should check out the mp3car.com/store. They have a good selection and great service.

I'd get something like this:
http://www.mp3car.com/store/product_...products_id=84

and a Xenarc 700TSV VGA Touchscreen Monitor:

You can get a GPS receiver for $40-50 bucks and I'll tell you where to get the Navigation software.

This is for a VGA touchscreen. You can't really use your nav screen.

Thanks for all your help Rich, how much do you think everything would cost roughly, including installation and everything? I was saving up for rims, but, this would be sick.

SRCSTC ... Beauftiful bezels. I looked at installing a Pioneer AVIC-D1 (Double Din) but was told it would not work. Do you know of anyone who has installed this unit in an X5 and used your bezel? Do you know if there are any special adapters, plugs, etc. that would need to be included for such an installation?

Thanks

It CAN be done. You just need a more qualified shop to do it. I'm making 2 of those right now for a shop in San Diego, CA.
Where are you located?

I'm in Naples, Florida. Am i better off looking for a used stock BMW Nav/Radio system and installing that? I would like to keep my XM and Ice-Link with text read out on the screen.

Thanks

I am intested as well.

01. 4.4is....I would love to do a carputer and that bezel can make the dream a reality.

Here is where you stand based on the pieces that have been recommended.

Remove Product(s) Qty. Total
MP3Car Custom Car Computer (3688)
- Build Build+Test+Preload OS
- Motherboard VIA EPIA SP13000 Mini-ITX Motherboard
- Hard Drive 2.5" Hard Drive 80GB Samsung 5400rpm
- CD/DVD Drive Pioneer Slot Load DVD±R/+R DL/±RW Dual Drive 8X
- Memory Ultra Low Profile 512MB DDR RAM
- Bluetooth Linksys USB Bluetooth
- Operating System Windows XP Pro
- Keyboard Mini PS2 Keyboard
- Monitor Xenarc 700TSV (Black)
- Sound Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS (/w MII12000 only)
- Power Supply M1-ATX
- Wireless Linksys USB Wireless G
$1,720.00
Xenarc 700TSV - VGA Monitor with touchscreen and video inputs
- Headrest Shroud -
- Color Black
- Screen Cleaner Klear Screen High Performance Cleaning Kit
$418.95

Sub-Total: $2,138.95

Plus $50 for GPS
Plus software ?
new sub = $2188.95

How much for a bezel? I wonder what the install would cost at a quality dealer? I already have a dual head rest DVD/CD set up...I wonder if I could integrate all three screens together? HMmmmmmm?
