Talking After market stereo? Please post pic...

I want to upgrade my Business CD to an after market stereo. If you have pictures please post it. I would love to see it.

I've seen a few on this site. I'm not a big fan of aftermarket stereo in the x5. if you're going to do it, i'd say go double DIN navigation unit. Those look the best. single DIN just looks terrible. Search "double DIN" or "head unit" on the forums maybe. There are a few good double DIN units out there.

With the after market stereo do you lose the ability to see all the computer functions? Like limit, distance, arrival and stuff like that?

Thanks ljnlaw, thats exactly what I was looking for. I may paint the plastic KIT that glossy black, so it matches my trim. What do you mean by the ability to see all the computer functions? Do you mean the cluster MPG, Temp functions?

Do you know if the after market stereo will plug into the original Amp? My installer said, he may not be able to use the factory amp, so he may have to re-wire and loose some of the speakers!? Sounds like BS! Yes or no?

Hi,

This are some fotos from my stereo
It´s like a normal X5 audio system but after i uncover the radio and the headrest covers it transforms into a super multimedia system.

I like how you did that...stealthy and clean at the same time.

ljlaw - I just took a gander at your system. That is one fine set-up, would love to see it someday! That M3 is what I am looking at getting someday!
