Best Sirius Antenna, and perhaps a Sharkfin?
I followed the writeup here on relocating my Sirius antenna inside the rear spoiler of my E53. Reception is mediocre; cuts out more often than I deem acceptable so I plan to relocate it back to the roof and either have it painted to colormatch so it blends in, or hide it inside of a Sharkfin(does anyone recommend a particular one?) Not sure how that would look but it's definitely an option.. Figured while im doing this, is there an Antenna that is better than the one included with the OEM Sirius kit? Reception is #1 priority, if it's small enough to fit inside a sharkfin then ill investigate further - if not a standard antenna is just fine. Thanks! |

What Sirius Antenna are you using? I am using a TERK SIR Mini inside my E38, behind the windshield and under the rear parcel shelf. It works perfectly. Most folks have mounted antennas inside the E53 spoiler without problems. Have you tested with a different antenna? Or alternatively, have you tested with you current antenna mounted externally?

SIR MINI is perfectly fine - make sure the antenna is level in order to get optimum reception.
