novfilms is on a distinguished road
anyone have xm instead of sirius

after looking over the music programming, i'm leaning towards xm even though bmw is partnered with sirius. apparently there will be a remote unit that will be able to be used to retrofit xm and/or sirius into the nav/stereo system in the x5 available in december. i did not get sirius when i got my car in july but do have the nav. but in looking over the music programming, xm seems a better fit for me. i love "americana"..son volt, the gourds, uncle tupelo, the jayhawks, wilco, etc and xm seems to have several categories that appeal to me. has anyone else gone to xm rather than sirius? how is it working? were you have to get it to work within the existing installed system? this new electronic component will appanently allow for a seemless retrofit.

thanks

alan

also if there are sirius users out there that have similar music tastes and can tell me where alt country/americana exists on sirius...that would make it much easier to decide.
