2008 X5 headrest dvds?

Curious if anyone has fitted a vizualogic or similar kit into their '08? motorized headrests that appear to have some electrical connection running into the factory headrest.

This is a picture of what I saw installed on an E70 at my dealer. I would also suggest contacting Invision. I believe they make the new OEM BMW systems.

I dont think you can have them build in the way you want to, as you can se on the picture the oem screans are not mounted on to the headrests it self. There is another oem mounting poing in the center armrest betwean the front seats. I have E53 with comfort seats, and had same issue, i decided to go with center console mount, se this thread for pics

Wow, that install looks totally ridiculous and completely impractical. I would say that 99% of my rear seat passengers grab onto the backs of the front seats when getting in or out of the car. I suspect that unless these seatback mounted screens are welded onto the front seats, they are going to get loose or even worse, broken, in no time flat. I originally thought they were a cool idea, but looking at the actual installation for the first time ever I have to say that I cannot imagine why anyone would go with this option over the headrest contained units.

Keep in mind that because of BMW's new safety feature (Active Headrests) there is now a gas cartridge inside of the headrest that will fire the headrest forward if the vehicle is involved in an impact to protect the driver and passenger from whiplash. Moving forward, there will not be a new "Headrest" DVD unit like INViSiON's previous models because this is the new safety standard in the BMW X3 / X5 / X6. If you need anymore information please feel free to visit your local Authorized BMW Center or contact me at the office number below. Have a great day.
