Unhappy Speaker Dead/Click Noise - Please Help!!!

I have a problem! There is an intermittent clicking sound to the left of the dash somewhere around the left door tweeter in my 2006 X5 4.4 with DSP/NAV. There is like a shooossshhhh white noise sound coming out of the speaker and when I lower the volume all the way I can only hear that noise coming out of that speaker.

I brought the truck to the dealer last week and they replaced the tweeter on the left door and the amp. After them having the car for a week I am driving home from there today and poof the sound comes back. I put my ear to the speaker and it just sounds like white noise but no music coming out of it. And the thing keeps clicking. I noticed two things:

1) When I first start driving everything is normal - seems as if after I drive for a bit with the radio on thats when the problem starts.

2) When I turn DSP on/off it the click sound happens as I turn it on and off. Not sure if these means that the problem is rooted in DSP or the amp? Maybe faulty wiring?

I know nothing really about stereos but I do know that I just brought the thing in and I am fuming that it still doesn't work properly...please help!!

It could be the DSP amp, just the speaker, bad connection, etc. If you brought it in for this problem and they didn't find anything wrong, the tech probably just turned it on and didn't let it play long enough to mess up. If you bring it back within so long (30 days at my dealer) they will label it as a comeback and give it some priority. Just give them the best description possible on any variables or circumstances that affect when it happens. I can't tell you how many times I get complaints that only happen under certain circumstances, but I get no additional info... so it is all but impossible to confirm much less diagnose.

I have the exact same problem with my 4.8, random clicking from the door tweeter and white noise. Funny thing is that it will go away for several days at a time then come back.
I'm taking it in for some other work soon so I'll have them take a look at it and report back.

I had the same problem with my '05. They changed the tweeter 3 times. It finally stopped. I don't think it was the tweeter itself, I think it was a connection. It would come and go.

I actually just got it back Thursday after bringing it back in again. Apparently the first time they didn't really change the amp bc BMW didn't give them authorization. Now they have the authorization because they were able to positively identify that as the problem. So far so good no noise since the new amp was put in!
