What is the best sounding 12 in woofer you can buy?

thinking about upgrading my 12 L7 kicker to something that has deeper bass.

I dont want loud, I want nice clear deep bass,

what amp should I get as well.

I have always had the best sound quality out of JL, and would try the 12w7 with the 500.1 JL amp pretty much made for it. The best quality sound I ever had out of a sub was a w7 and I would recommend it to anybody that wants quality!

I had the 10 and it sounded better than a pair of regular 12's! But I pushed it HARD and split the surround with over excursion.

I listen to some pretty brutal metal and the 10's seem more precise with the fast paced double bass drums, but the 12's are still very precise and can handle more than the 10. If I had the 12 I'd probably still be listening to it! And the 12 would do better than the 10 with pop, hip hop or rap for those long bass notes.

thanks weasel,

One last question...
I have a Kicker KX.600.1 Mono Class D Amp. Rated around 740RMS
Could you pair this with the 10 or 12?

Thanks for help

Easily... the rms output on that matches the rms on the 12 pretty well, and you could turn it down a bit for the 10. Both subs have a huge 3 ohm single voice coil, so it won't overwork and overheat the amp as some dvc subs do... so it's less taxing on the amp as well to go with the JL.

I recommend the 12w7 with your amp as it will be really deep, clean bass.

So hows the recovery going? Back enjoying the X daily now?

To be honest and up front the 'best' subwoofer is not going to be from one of the large mainstream brands. That is not to say you would have an issue with a JL but there are many subs that sound better, go lower and get louder than JL.

What brands/model would you suggest?

I have a Bob Carver Sunfire sub in my room and the sound is amazing. only an 8inch sub with 2400 watts. only 13x13x13 w/ an internal amp. .. This is the type of sound im looking for.

don't know if you'll get anything that will match that...that sub is phenomenal! why not get a heavy duty ac converter and put that sub in your car? if you're looking for something similar to that, I would probably go with a 15" sub.

EDIT: Charliehustle mentions a Solobaric and I've always like those. I used to have 2 15" round Solos and they banged. Don't know how the L7s are, but they're supposed to be better.
