Wanting to add OEM Sirius to E53

I have a 2005 E53 w/DSP and no Nav and want to add OEM sirius to it. I currently have a Dension icelink connected to the CD changer and would like to keep that. Is it possible to add Sirius and keep the iceLink, if so, what Sirius module do I need? I have found so many different part numbers.

thx

I just did this about 6 months ago.

I had a Dice Mediabridge and got the OEM Sirius.

only real issue was with the antenna.

I tried to install the antenna in the 'spoiler' like in the write-ups, but I trashed two antennas trying to snake them through the rubber looms. I wound up putting a slight notch in the seam under the weather stripping and bringing the antenna up through the stripping, across the hatch gap and up on the roof. I even painted the antenna silver. With the roof rack you can really only tell if you are looking for it.

works flawless.

HEre's the thing. There was some weirdness on ordering the unit. I would need to track down the part number I ordered, but it wasn't what you would find in real OEM. What showed up was a different part number than was on the box (which was expected).

my only feedback is this:

1. sound is better than the dice
2. controls are about the same
3. a few more presets.

However, you're still dealing with the OEM setup, so the display sucks (it scrolls, but you have to make it scroll), and your at the mercy of FF/RR for the channel changes.

I only did this because I was annoyed with the way the dice operated, had OEM BT, and was on an OEM kick.

If the fine folks at dynavin/hulagin etc...could just figure out how to incorporate Sirius (those generic tuners cant be that hard to control), and somehow make the OEM Bluetooth mic work, I'd have bought 3 of them.

By that same token, If my X had NAV and I had the big screen, different story entirely.

If you could find the part numbers you used, I would really appreciate it. Both what you ordered and what is actually on the unit.

+1, I have spoken with the "powers that be" about this quite a few times, problem is, its just way to small of a market to add the functionality of this on their units. I just ordered my Dynavin and to use sirius I bought a new sirius onyx plus. I havent received the Dynavin but I have installed the sirus receiver up in the flip down glasses case so you can see the display clearly, you cant fold it up anymore but it works, I will just use the AUX input on the Dyn.
