BMW iphone integration

I'm about to order a 2009 E70 and would like to know how well the BMW integration is done for the iphone? I have an E39 with an Intravee I installed a couple of years ago which works great so am hoping that BMW did it as well or better. Anyone that has one and can let me know what you think about it would be appreciated. Thanks!

It will connect via bluetooth and can charge the phone if you have the snap in cradle as well. I have used it and it works fine, phone book transfer and no issues.

The snap-in adapter for the iPhone 3G works really well. From what I read, the iPhone snap-in adapter was a tighter fit and could cause some scratching.

Zogger, if you want more info, search on "iphone".

Thanks - I did do a search and mainly came up with DICE and Intravee info and a few posts about the early version of the iphone interface rather than the newer 3G version. What I'm hoping to determine is whether I'm better off just buying another Intravee or if BMW finally got it right this time. I wasn't all that clear in my initial question so let me try again. Im not asking about the snap in adapter. I am interested in the user interface for managing music on the iphone.Earlier posts mentioned that song titles and playlists were displayed as numbers rather than the names. Did BMW get that sorted out in the 3G version?

Yes, I see the songs and playlists on my 3G (using the 6FL adapter).

Just FYI, that's not my preferred way of playing music though. I have hundreds of tracks burned to DVD and play those from my DVD changer.

Hadn't thought of that. What DVD changer are you using and are you able to display the song, artist, playlist, etc? I just moved to Panama and they don't bring vehicles in with Nav since there is no data available which I assume wouldn't make any difference to the Entertainment feature in the idrive system.
