Speaker wiring - help needed

I attempted to upgrade my audio system today and got somewhere but not complete.

I've got non dsp, non nav, and taken the outputs at the radio and wired them through LOC (Rockford 3sixty - for eq purposes later) and into my amp (I don't have a OEM amp).

From the amp, i connected the speaker wires back to the point where I cut the wires (from the radio). Strange, but the OEM tweeter in the dash still works, and my highs are being filtered.

Would like to run the speaker cable through the doors but not sure how to do so. Has anyone upgraded their speaker cables from amp to speakers in the door?

If not, where do i find the OEM crossover?

You do have a factory amp in your vehicle even with the non-DSP sound system. Its located in the rear drivers side trunk panel where you access the tail lamp bulbs. You can get all your sources from there and wire them accordingly.

Thanks Charlie Hustle,

I went to the pros.. and I'm one of those that doesn't have an amp.

Anyway, everything up and running now. Thanks for your reply.

Snaps, didn't realize you were in Austrailia.

Out of curiousity, is your stereo any different visually than the one in the US? Would you mind snapping a photo of it?

The problem is the signal goes to the speaker, and like older BMWs with no amp, has an inline crossover that 'filters' the signal.

In those cars running fresh wires from your new aftermarket amp to the new speakers(or crossovers if you have components) is going to be your best bet.

Euro vehicles have just a radio/tape/CD with internal amp that powers a 2 way front system(sometimes coaxials depending on the chassis) and a rear coaxial/full range driver pair.
