Installing BSW Stage 1, BSW Sub and Rear camera

I am really excited. I have ordered the BSW Stage 1 speakers, BSW Sub and a backup camera from Bimmernav. I got the speakers and backup camera already, I am just waiting for the Sub. I already have a VSM module that I got over a year ago but never installed. I am hoping to install all this stuff on Friday and I might get some help to do it. I am hoping that the audio stuff makes a big difference.

I decided to get a backup camera because I put one in my wife's Suburban and she just loves it. We moved into a heavily child populated area and I am worried that I might hit someone. We have a steep driveway and can not see as well as I would like. Anyway, I will let everyone know how the install goes.

Ron

I will take some picks this weekend. I did get everything done. The speakers did not make as much as a difference as I thought they would. Well so I thought. About a week later I did notice a difference. Then my wife got into the car and she was blown away. She then had to remind me of my hearing loss when I was in the Navy. The sub made a large difference, in fact I have to turn it down on some music because it is too loud. I really like it. I mostly listen to classic and alternative rock. I think that it is better but my wife thinks much more of it than I do because she has better hearing. I did have a problem with feedback in the sub, but it turned out to be the LED reverse lights. I changed those back to stock and all was well.

It is nice to have a backup camera. I really like that feature.

I bought a used BSW Sub package from ebay and got that installed last weekend. When I installed it, the temperature was quite cold so once I verified it was working, I temporarily mounted everything. I'll have to go back later to permanently mount the rockford fosgate amp and clean up the loose wires.

I have to say I am extremely pleased with the subwoofer. It was an easy install and the sound difference is incredible. I am surprised how well the 8" sub does in such a small enclosure. I hope the stage 1 speaker kit is just as good because I am saving up for that upgrade. I wish I had the money for it now .

Ron,

Can you describe the complexity of installing the backup camera? I have nightmares of fishing wires all over the place.

I ended up having someone else doing the install. The nice thing was that the wire went from the back tail gate to the left rear quarter panel where all my nav stuff was installed. I did not have to fish it to the front, so it was not a really big deal.

Thanks for the info. Hmmm, sounds easy enough if I could figure out where to connect the wire...
